Response: Yes, someone did leak Halo 2 out into the internet and while it's free to download, if you get caught, you will be fined $100,000.00. Also, unless you're fluent in French, the leaked copy won't do you much good, not to mention that it lacks online play.

Most of the dialog is covered by the English subtitles. Online play does not work because 1) The game is not out yet, 2) You must have a mod chip to play the leak, and therefore Xbox Live is out of the picture anyway. The leak is the full french retail edition though, so I've heard. :)
Buy the game, it's well worth it.
