2004.07.05 Sing... Sing a Song, Morgan!
I personally own the first volume to Karaoke Revolution, I will most definitely be purchasing the second volume. Hey, I know I can sing.

It's really sad that the game, "City of Heroes" got an average review. I haven't played the game yet, but I know some of you have the game (*cough* webmaster of decloah.com). If you've played City of Heroes, comment back on:
1) what you liked about the game?
2) what you don't like about the game?
and 3) do you agree to Adam and Morgan's game assessment?
We've all seen some of Morgan's moblog images of her taking pictures of the Walt Disney Music Center/Concert Hall in Los Angeles. Well, it's obvious from tonight's episode that she attended the first ever, United States performance of Final Fantasy musical scores performed by the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra.
Mo sings good, I don't see why she thinks she doesn't.
I like the dress she wore to the concert. All fancy then w/ flowers... for some reason I think it fits her really well.
Heh, chime in time.
With the all the 4th of July weekend festivities, I kinda just skimmed thru this episode of X-Play on my TiVO. I did managed to catch the 3 out of 5 rating of City of Heroes though and throught it was a pretty fair rating.

CoH is a very refreshing, very fun MMORPG, no doubt about it. It manages to get a lot of things right including transportation from zone to zone, to allowing everyone to get speed enhancement abilities (more transportation), to their sidekick system which allows low level players to group with much higher level players and still be able to contribute. The character creator process is by far the best in any MMORPG to date. It is amazingly deep with all the choices you can make and rediculously fun. You could spend hours just making new superhero characters alone and be satisfied. And for players of other MMORPG's making a switch, its a marvelous breath of fresh air.
I love the fact that I can just log in and play for a 1/2 hour and feel like I accomplished something. There's no standing around for hours waiting for stuff to get rolling.
> 2) what you don't like about the game?
At the moment, it's terribly shallow. While not having a traditional loot system, complete with rare and "uber" equipment and trinkets, is one of the game's strong sides, it's also the game's greatest weakness as veteran MMORPGers find the rewards just not fulfilling enough. There are no cool weapons to find, no fancy armor to wear, no terribly uber item to augment your powers with (yet). The devs say that this will change in the coming months, but right now there are no traditional rewards.
Also, no trade/craft system and no PvP. Coming from DAoC, this is a welcomed change, but definitely hurts the replayability. Again, this is something that will be fixed in a year when City of Villians comes out, but until then...
> 3) do you agree to Adam and Morgan's game assessment?
Yep. CoH is a great vacation game for those MMORPG players who need a break. It's biggest problem is the re-occuring theme that it's greatest strengths that make it such a great 'new' game to play, are also it's greatest weaknesses in regards to long term playability. Until the add-ons and expansions come out, I just can't see anyone playing it for years on end as with other MMORPGS.
I also have a copy of Karaoke Revolution. I sing well, but still get very shy about singing in front of others. Plus I think I only got my friends together once to play the game and that's it. Iffy on getting volume 2. I'd rather have the Japanese versions. Last I checked, they had at least 10 expansion pack by the time the first one came out here. I would've loved to sing my favorite jpop and anime songs.
Morgan+Dress=Gorgeous.
She looks good in just about anything.
