2004.05.04 Bandwidth, Cat & Morgan
Sorry I have to bring this up...
But I've noticed lately that users are grabbing images from this site and displaying on other sites as signatures that gets displayed everytime that user posts/replies on some website; this I don't mind.
What I do mind is that the user is using this site's bandwidth to display the images as his/her signature file. I might be over-reacting and this might be done by only a small group of users -- but I don't think it's right. If you're providing a hot link to this site .. that's okay but not to be used as someone's personal signature.
What do you think?
In the meantime, Cat Schwartz updated her blog and included some photos while she, Morgan Webb and some others were at a conert in COACHELLA. I have to say though, Cat really needs to optimize those images, 2048 x 1536 can be a bitch. Of course, I'm only interested in the images with Morgan Webb, so I resized and did some levels adjustment to make the images clearer --- just fo you Morgan Fans:
A better idea would be to request visitors take the image and store it on their own personal FTP space. Sign up for an Angelfire account, create a cheap "under construction" index.html page, then just use the free Angelfire acount's FTP space as a holding pen for images used as sigs, avatars, whatever. I've been doing that for a while now. I just set set up a Blogger blog that I don't post to much, so that Angelfire doesn't deactivate the account. They'll supposedly deactivate your account if you're using it to just store images, so create a dummy page that you add content to every few months and store images in another subdirectory.
Or just tell them to use photobucket.com or mysigs.com to upload pics. I've heard that angelfire doesn't support direct linking, so sometimes your stuff won't show up (unless you're using it on an angelfire site). Same goes for tripod and geocities.
Anyway, cool pics of Morgan, hope she had fun there.
aww man........i was hoping Cat would have more with Mo. Probably just put up a few anyway :) She said she would be taking lots of pics, but oh well. Maybee theres more to come or maybee they just had that good of a time and forgot to take pics :)
For VIP'S they sure were far away from the stage.
Morgan looked A-MAZ-ING! I think VIP worked for only certain bands. If you noticed her moblog, some of the shots were VIP, while others were far away.
Thanks kissAndtell that explains it perfectly, but it sounds kinda wierd when you get VIP for certain bands but not for others; usually VIP means VIP for everything.
It is weird. I have no rational explanation for you.
Keep posting back kissAndtell, you always provide good answers to questions.
